Welcome to City Kids! We believe that every child is a gift from God (Ps. 127:3) made by Him and with more potential than they could ever imagine. Our desire is to develop that potential and assist parents in preparing their kids for a future of following Jesus. City Kids is an environment designed to lead and care for kids in Kindergarten - 5th Grade. This environment is led by volunteers that have been interviewed, trained, background checked and are passionate about caring for your kids.
City Kids gather on the Second Floor of the Strand Theatre. Registration begins at 9:30 AM. Parents may also pre-register their kids (this will definitely save time when you arrive!). Once registered, both the parent and child are given a matching armband for security purposes and kids make their way to the Second Floor for the morning.
Everything we teach during large group is designed to provoke discovery and invite kids into a new understanding of how to grow in their relationship with Jesus. Much of what we will teach in this environment is based on one of three basic, but powerful truths modeled in Jesus' life in Luke 2:52.
1. I need to make the wise choice.
2. I can trust Jesus no matter what.
3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Small Groups that meet after the teaching are age and gender appropriate.
If you have any questions we can answer prior to arrival, please feel free to contact Tate Cooney our City Kids Coordinator at email@example.com Before you do, though, we invite you to please read through our FAQs as they may already contain the answer to your question!
What time does check-in open?
Check-In opens 30 minutes prior to the gathering. You can also minimize your wait time by pre-registering your kids.
How do I sign up to serve with City Kids?
If you are interested in serving, please fill out the application form here.
When is my child promoted to the next group?
City Kids are promoted annually in the fall.
Will my kids be able to be in the same small group?
We place all kids in age and gender appropriate groups, so your children may or may not be able to be in the same small group.
What is the City Kids well child policy?
To minimize the chance of spreading illness, children who show signs of sickness will not be accepted into the City Kids environment. We require that children be fever-free for 24 hours before entering. This is for the health and protection of all children and volunteers. You are encouraged to bring your child back to us as soon as he or she is well. If an illness is discovered after a child is in the classroom, your child will be separated from the other children and a member of our Staff Team will contact you.
Upon recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a child should not be taken from the home with any of the following conditions:
Diarrhea (even if associated with teething or medication)
Any symptoms of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox, strep throat, flu, or any other contagious or infectious disease
Common cold from onset through one week
Junky or barky cough, phlegm-filled or productive cough
Any contagious or unexplained rash
Pink eye or other eye infections
Cloudy or green runny noses or persistent cough
Any communicable disease
