Welcome to City Tots! We believe that every child is a gift from God (Ps. 127:3) made by Him with more potential than they could ever imagine. Our aim is to develop that potential and assist parents in preparing their kids for a future of following Jesus. City Tots is an environment designed to care for kids from Birth - Pre-K. This environment is led by volunteers who have been interviewed, trained, background checked and are passionate about investing in the next generation!
City Tots gather on the Fourth Floor of the Strand Theatre. Check-In begins at 9:30 AM in the First Floor Lobby. Parents may also pre-register their kids (this will definitely save time when you arrive!). Once registered, both the parent and child are given a matching armband for security purposes. Kids are then placed in one of two groups based on their stage of development. Babies and crawlers are placed in one group and strong walkers are placed in the other.
Through age appropriate activities, preschoolers build their spiritual foundation so that by the time they graduate to Kindergarten they know these three basic truths:
1. Jesus Made Me
2. Jesus Loves Me
3. Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever
If you have any questions we can answer prior to arrival, please feel free to contact Karri Redman, our City Tots Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org Before you do, though, we invite you to please read through our FAQs as they may already contain the answer to your question!
What time does check-in open?
Check-In opens 30 minutes prior to the gathering. You can also minimize your wait time by pre-registering your kids.
What about parents who keep their babies in the gathering?
For parents with babies that stay with them during the gathering, changing pads are available in both the men's and women's restrooms equipped with wax paper and wipes for you to easily change your little one's diaper! Please feel free to sit with your little one up on the balcony on the second floor as well.
How do I sign up to serve with City Tots?
When is my child promoted to the next group?
Children from birth to 2 years old are promoted developmentally.
Will my kids be able to be in the same small group?
For the safety of all the children within City Tots, we place children in groups developmentally, so your children may or may not be able to be in the same group.
What is the City Tots well child policy?
To minimize the chance of spreading illness, children who show signs of sickness will not be accepted into the City Tots environment. We require that children be fever-free for 24 hours before entering. This is for the health and protection of all children and volunteers. You are encouraged to bring your child back to us as soon as he or she is well. If an illness is discovered after a child is in the classroom, your child will be separated from the other children and a member of our Staff Team will contact you.
Upon recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a child should not be taken from the home with any of the following conditions:
- Diarrhea (even if associated with teething or medication)
- Any symptoms of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox, strep throat, flu, or any other contagious or infectious disease
- Common cold from onset through one week
- Sore throat
- Junky or barky cough, phlegm-filled or productive cough
- Any contagious or unexplained rash
- Pink eye or other eye infections
- Cloudy or green runny noses or persistent cough
