Premarital Mentoring
Premarital Mentoring pairs an engaged couple with a mentor couple for five to six sessions over a two to three month time period. A structured book (The Meaning of Marriage or Preparing for Marriage) provides the couple with an introduction to several key areas to a healthy marriage, including: communication, conflict resolution, finances, intimacy, and family. Mentor couples have been married for at least five years and demonstrate maturity in their relationship with Jesus and wisdom in their marriage.
It is critical to begin the premarital process at least three months before your wedding date. This creates space to adequately work through the material. If there are areas discovered during the mentoring sessions that you or your fiancé need further work on, it also allows plenty of time to do so apart from the last-minute rush of wedding preparations.
There are a few prerequisites for participation in Premarital Mentoring:
1. You are currently engaged, with a wedding date more than four months from the date of registration.
2. One or both of you are regular attendees of City Church Marietta.
3. If either you or your fiancé have been previously married, your wedding date must be at least one year from the date of your divorce.
4. You have reviewed the CCM Marriage Policy found in our Doctrines.
If you meet the prerequisites, please use the form below to register. Once received, you will be paired with a mentor couple within our church. If you would like to use City Church for your wedding, or would like to request that one of our pastors officiate your wedding, please provide the date, time, and location of the ceremony in the space provided in the form. (Note: There is a cost for renting the building and an additional honorarium for our pastors).
Please fill in the form below.
